This week, I’m running some new strips that should have run a couple of weeks ago. But didn’t. Because Gallbladder.
They were all drawn (but not yet scanned in) and everything, and then…BLAM!
As a reader noted on my Twitter feed, the Gallbladder is the worst Batman Golden Age villain.
Anyway, instead of forgetting about these strips, I wanted to run them. Because I realized, my reaction to the then-new Star Wars Episode VII trailer, and staying up late to buy tickets from a website that was crashing worse than the Star Destroyer you see in the background, was exactly the same as my reaction to a certain trailer I saw 15 years ago. And this worried me, because, well, you’ll see.
In fact, I wrote a little story about it, back then.
Please to enjoy a Dork Tower comic, from the year 2000.
(The above pages first appeared in Dork Tower Issue 4, “The Fandom Menace.” They are reprinted here from the first Dork Tower collection, Dork Covenant, which is (at least, at the moment) still available in print. Or you can download it here, from DriveThruComics. Which would be swell. And could even help pay for gallbladder surgery. Please to enjoy.)
Anyway, that was 15 years ago. And we all realize, that can’t happen AGAIN, can it?
I have my tickets!
